After working with tech support, trying all the drivers, and trying my shiny new WPC54G wireless card in two different Thinkpads with two different cardbus chipsets (TI and Ricoh), I can only conclude that Linksys is selling equipment that does not work at all.

I cannot remember the last time I purchased a product that failed to run on a standard OS (Windows 2000) on a standard PC (IBM Thinkpads R32 and X20). On my last call to Linksys (whatever possessed me to talk to them again?) the rep acknowledged that it just wasn’t going to work for me and I should return it to where I bought it and get a different model (like the b series instead).

Mind-boggling.

Don’t buy Linksys gear.
